A Composer’s Guide to Game Music
Good explanations of how to approach design of music for games

The Musician’s Guide to Licensing Music
Very helpful for getting started with understanding contracts and legal terms as they relate to music

The Compound Effect
A recommendation from a colleague, this book easily became one of my favorite self-help books.

Fluent Forever
I’ve known a number of fellow engineers and composers to have an interest in learning foreign languages. I found this book extremely helpful for establishing a routine and method of study for Spanish, Russian, and French.
